Alumni Spotlight: Elizabeth Barenfanger | Class of 2022
Elizabeth brought awareness and advocacy together through her business Elizabeth’s Emporium — a mental health-centered custom apparel brand. From sweatshirts to dog bandanas, she used her creativity to promote open conversations around mental health.
Now entering her senior year at Illinois State University, Elizabeth is studying elementary education with a reading endorsement. She currently serves as chapter president of Kappa Kappa Gamma and works as a student design and sales manager for Campus Ink, an apparel company based in Champaign.
“The program truly helped shape the person I am today. It equipped me with strong leadership skills that I’ve been able to apply both in my future career and in my involvement on campus. Beyond that, it connected me with an incredible network of people in my community who continue to support, encourage, and inspire me.”
“In five years, I see myself teaching in my own elementary classroom, creating a positive and supportive environment for my students — the same way others have done for me. I also hope to keep growing professionally, staying open to new opportunities that come my way. Whether that’s continuing to pursue leadership roles, exploring creative projects, or finding new ways to support and inspire others, I’m excited to see where life takes me.”
