Alumni Spotlight: Avyree Scholes | Class of 2020

Avyree participated in the CEO program in 2020 with plans to launch The Freezing Point, a mobile hand-dipped ice cream stand. While she was unable to officially open due to COVID-19, the experience still made a lasting impact.

Today, Avyree is a third-grade teacher at Brownstown Elementary School, where she brings confidence and creativity to her classroom each day.

“The program impacted me in a positive way. It has allowed me to develop confidence in my abilities and become clearer in my professional career goals. It has allowed me to become comfortable with public speaking which has helped me become an effective teacher to my students and colleague to my school community members. It has also helped me to become more organized and flexible which are two main factors that have helped me become the teacher I am today.”

“I see myself doing things I am passionate about. For example, I see myself still impacting my students in a positive way and leading them to grow inside and outside of my classroom. I see myself creating lasting memories with my friends and family. Most importantly, I see myself being happy and enjoying life to the fullest!”
