Matthew Lay

About Me

Hello my name is Matthew Lay, and I am a senior at Ramsey High School. I am the youngest child of my parents Jennifer and Steve Lay. In High School I was class chairman from freshman to junior year, and hoping to gain that position again this year. I am a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, and Yearbook. I am the captain of the Ramsey Scholastic Bowl team and am a proud member of our student section. Outside of school I am involved in Better Cleaner Ramsey and St. Joseph’s Ctaholic Church. Most nights you will find me working at Blind Society in downtown Vandalia. In my free time I enjoy anything that helps promote my well-being whether that be taking time to promote physical health through running, mental health through meditating, or emotional health through spending time with friends and family.   My core values in life are growth and respect. Growth in terms of personal and academic, to become a better person in all aspects of life. Respect in terms of respecting others and oneself to thrive in any environment. After graduating high school I plan to attend college and then find a job that suits me and provides for me. What I want to gain from the CEO program is simply life lessons. I was told from the very beginning that this class was going to better prepare me for college and life, and that is exactly what I want to achieve through my CEO involvement.
