We are restarting up our Alumni series, where we feature Fayette County CEO Alumni and how they are using CEO success in their future.
First, we have Makenzie Walk...
"I was in the CEO class of 2020. Afterwards, I attended Eastern Illinois University where I received a BS in chemistry double majoring in biochemistry and biological sciences. I graduated there in 2024, and I am currently in my 3rd year working as a chemistry PhD candidate at Washington University in St. Louis. My time in CEO played a large role in increasing my confidence in public speaking. This has been very valuable when presenting my research at conferences and seminars, teaching in undergraduate courses, and speaking with project collaborators. I came into my program with experiences that many other researchers do not get until much later. "
